안녕하세요, 사단법인 제주영화제 이사장 권범입니다.

법인으로 출범한지 열 번째 맞이하는 영화제입니다. 그동안 강산이 크게 변하지는 않았겠지만, 우리를 둘러싼 삶의 모습은 많이 바뀐 것 같습니다. AI를 비롯한 엄청난 신문명의 물결이 한편으로 두렵기도 합니다.

그래도 제주영화제는 어김없이 여러분을 찾았습니다. 제주의 고유성과 독창성에 기반을 두고 세계 섬 지역과 교류하고 연대하고자 하는 노력이 여러분의 관심과 격려와 맞닿아 있는 한, 저만치 뚜벅뚜벅 걸어가는 영화제의 모습을 확인할 수 있을 것입니다.

그동안 크고 작은 어려움과 보람이 교차해 왔습니다. 마치 한 편의 영화와 같다고나 할까요?

여러분 스스로 만들어가는 인생 영화와 제주영화제가 선보이는 여러 영화가 서로 대비되고 영향을 미치는 기회가 되지 않을까 합니다.

이제 또 다른 10년을 바라보는 이때에 앞으로도 여러분들의 시선이 제주영화제를 향해 계속 머물러 주시기를 바라는 마음이 간절합니다.

This year marks the tenth edition of the festival since it was launched as a corporation. While the landscapes may not have changed drastically, the way we live our lives has shifted isgnificantly. The sweeping wave of new civilization, including artificial intelligence, is at times even daunting.

Nevertheless, the Jeju Film Festival has returned, as it always does, to welcome you once again. As long as our commitment to fostering exchange and solidarity island communities around the world—rooted in the uniqueness and creativity of Jeju—continues to resonate with your interest and encouragement, the festival will steadily move forward, one step at a time.

Over the years, we have experienced both challenges and rewards, large and small. In may ways, it has been like living through a film.

Perhaps the stories you are shaping in your own lives and the films we present here will contrast with and inspire each other in unexpected ways.

As we look ahead to the next ten years, I sincerely hope your gaze will continue to rest upon the Jeju Film Festival.
